Shrink PDFs without wrecking them

Choose a target size or leave it on Recommended. The compressor rewrites the PDF with Ghostscript, downsampling oversized images and removing redundant data, and tries progressively stronger settings until the file fits. You always receive the smallest version it produced — and never a file larger than the one you uploaded.

What size do you need?

Exact limits change with every notification, so always check the official instructions for your exam or portal before uploading.

Where it's goingTypical limitChoose
Exam and recruitment forms (certificates, caste/income proofs)100–300 KB200 KB or 100 KB

Why some PDFs won't shrink much

PDFs made mostly of text are already tiny, so there is little to remove. Big savings come from PDFs containing photos or scans — a phone scan of a certificate can often drop from several megabytes to under 200 KB while staying readable.

Private by design

Files are uploaded over HTTPS, processed on our own servers in India and deleted automatically as soon as your download starts. We do not keep copies, add watermarks or ask you to sign up.

Frequently asked questions

How does PDF compression work?

Images inside the PDF are optimised and redundant data is removed, while text stays crisp.

Is my document safe?

Yes. Files are processed securely and deleted immediately after download.

What is the maximum file size?

PDFs up to 25 MB are supported.

How do I compress a PDF to 200 KB?

Upload the PDF, choose 200 KB as the target and click Compress. If the PDF is mostly scanned images it will usually fit; text-only PDFs are already small.

Will the text stay readable?

Yes. Text and vector graphics are kept as text; only embedded images are downsampled. At the strongest setting, photos look softer but documents remain legible.

Can I compress a password-protected PDF?

Remove the password with Unlock PDF first, compress it, then add protection again with Protect PDF if needed.

What if the result is still too big?

Split very long PDFs into fewer pages, or convert the pages to images, compress them, and rebuild the PDF with JPG to PDF.

Is there a watermark?

Never. Compressed files are returned exactly as processed, with no branding.
